Douggie's early childhood panned out in a series of foster homes. He was expelled from secondary school without any qualifications, although he did learn how to play a drum kit.

On leaving his mother's home at sixteen, he moved into the back of a Ford Anglia van. His worldly possessions were a shopping bag full of tatty boxing magazines and a drum kit.

Douggie lives in London. He is the Head Coach of an amateur boxing club and fronts the Phony Kings, the greatest band you've never heard.
